Pangasinan Job Fair Caravan comes to Binalonan
The Provincial Government of Pangasinan thru the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Local Government Unit of Binalonan conducted a Job Fair Caravan with Government One-Stop Shop Services last Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center, Binalonan, Pangasinan in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). The event was staged in celebration of Binalonan Town Fiesta.
The event was organized in fulfillment of Governor Ramon “Mon-Mon” V. Guico’s commitment to provide employment opportunities to Pangasinenses by bringing jobseekers and employers together in one venue for immediate job matching.
Over 300 applicants all over the province attended the event while about 2600 jobs were offered to eager jobseekers. At the end of the day, 30 successful jobseekers were hired on the spot while 256 applicants were qualified for further interview.
Shiela Mae Yago Soriano, 22, from Asingan, Pangasinan was among the deserving applicants hired to be deployed within the province. She said that she is thankful for the opportunity and felt nervous as this is her first job. She is grateful to Pangasinan PESO and encouraged them to keep on doing a great job at providing gainful employment opportunities to Pangasinenses.
To show their utmost support, Hon. Ramon Ronald V. Guico IV, Municipal Mayor of Binalonan conveyed his message thru Mr. Manuel O. Luis Jr., Municipal Administrator. He reminded everyone not to waste this rare opportunity and has given regards to the Provincial Government of Pangasinan headed by Governor Guico for their steadfast commitment in providing employment opportunities to Pangasinenses. He promised that the Binalonan will always support the programs and initiatives of the provincial government.
Aside from the various job opportunities, applicants were provided with free snacks as a food station was set up near the registration area to provide applicants free snacks, in the form of pandesal and creamy chicken macaroni soup (sopas), while waiting for their turn to be interviewed especially those who are early and those who come from far flung municipalities.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Ms. Annabel T. Roque provided for the food of participating companies and agencies.
The job fair also includes a One-Stop Shop where applicants may avail of government services or assistance from SSS, Philhealth and PSA Philsys.
The TESDA in coordination with Vox Humana Technological College Inc. also provided free wellness massage to jobseekers, employers and visitors.
To ensure the safety of applicants and credibility of the event, Ms. Roma Madrigal, Labor and Employment Officer III of the Department of Labor and Employment Eastern Pangasinan Field Office supervised the Job Fair Caravan.
The event was participated by 10 local companies (Clean Edge Manpower Solution, EEI Corporation, Iqor Philippines, Julius K. Quiambao Medical & Wellness Center, Inc., Multiply Paper Ventures, Inc., Natcorp Career Growth and Manpower Services, Inc., One Source Specialized Services, Inc., Savemore Market, Staff Search Asia and SUMI North-Philippines Wiring Systems Corp,) and 3 overseas placement agencies (Gulf Horizon International Services, Inc., Lau’Mel International Staffing Services, Inc. and Philasia Human Resources, Inc.)
